20 Jan’15 Kumamoto Kita High School

We have had our very first school cultural exchange program this year, held on the 20th Jan 2015. Thank you Peicai Secondary School for hosting our guests from Kumamoto Kita High School. It was a day of great fun, although all were perspiring a little (a lot?) after the very intense ice-breaking games!

First up, some self introduction from our very active Peicai Secondary School students.

And, not forgetting a speech by our friends all the way from Kumamoto, Japan!

And we made the students tangle themselves up a little and… start infecting others with virus…

Enough of games (but of course fun continues). Let’s move on to the campus tour! Japanese school compounds and Singapore school compounds differ quite a bit and it was an eye-opener for these students as they realise the different needs for schools in Singapore and our local students which eventually results in the different facilities we have here and in Japan.

Shy? Not at all. Our Japanese visitors were actively engaging in conversations with Peicai Secondary School students.

After running around in the school hall and walking about the campus, it is time to get serious. Our friends from Kumamoto have brought with them traditional Japanese plays including origami, kendama and so on. They also brought with them a presentation about Kumamoto in English!
